JGP’s experience with real estate and urban development projects dates back to its early years and is mostly concentrated in the state of São Paulo, though several projects have been developed in the states of Parana, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio Grande do Norte, Goias, Mato Grosso do Sul, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia.
Most notable is our experience with E&S impact assessments and environmental management of construction of large residential neighborhoods. This includes over 60 projects totaling more than 300 million m2. Our work in many cases has gone beyond permitting and support during infrastructure construction and included E&S management and/or monitoring services for the owner associations responsible for continued implementation of environmental commitments once the neighborhoods are fully implemented and occupied (see Quinta da Baronesa Residencial Development).
Several major touristic resorts (see Laguna Beach Resort and Marina) and some industrial districts are also included in this experience. In several cases, we have been retained by land owners and/or prospective developers to assess site environmental restrictions and provide general planning guidelines.
Large buildings and mixed-use developments in dense urban areas also require specific impact assessments and neighbor consultation as part of their permitting process and JGP has provided this for a wide variety of projects.
Other urban projects have included flood-control infrastructure, urban renewal programs, risk mitigation planning in irregularly occupied high-risk areas, among others.
