JGP has extensive experience in solar photovoltaic projects. We have conducted Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and implemented environmental and social management plans for several major players in this sector in Brazil, including projects in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Bahia, Pernambuco, Ceará, and Piauí (see São Gonçalo Solar PV Plant). On many projects we have acted as the Lenders’ consultant, conducting Environmental and Social Due Diligence assessments and subsequent Independent E&S Monitoring.
Our international experience includes photovoltaic projects in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Portugal and Sierra Leone.
Mandates on more than 45 different projects totaling more than 8,500 have been successfully concluded. This includes the full spectrum from very large projects (over 800 MWp covering areas large than 1,000 hectares) to small generation facilities under 5 MW.
