JGP has extensive experience with urban development projects. The Quinta da Baroneza project is a reference in proper environmental planning and responsible implementation. It covers an area of nearly 100 million square feet (900 hectares) and includes residential areas, a golf course, club houses and associated facilities, as well as several lakes and two extremely well preserved forested areas that cover 30% of the area.
JGP was responsible for the E&S Impact Study (ESIA) and for management of the entire permitting process. Subsequently, JGP was responsible for environmental supervision of construction of all phases. The two natural forests were transformed into legally decreed Environmental Reserves based on Forest Management Plans (FMPs) prepared by JGP that were approved by the federal environmental agency (IBAMA). Continuous monitoring of local fauna was required in the FMPs. JGP´s engagement with the project lasted over 10 years.
