Duplication of Highway BR-163/MS

Duplication of the southern segment of Highway BR-163 (847 Km.) in compliance with the technical standards set for roads classified as Class I-A (with double carriageway), with high traffic demand and partial control of access. Besides the duplication, the project included adjustments on urban roads (construction of side roads, improvement in the access roads to municipalities, implementation of walkways, and construction of intersections at the crossing points with state highways and urban roads).

JGP was responsible for the project’s ESIA and managed the environmental licensing process, including : 

  • Environmental and Social Management Plans (PBA); 
  • Forest Inventory and Forest Clearing Permits.
  • Archaeological Study and Surveys; 
  • Ethnographic and Ecological Studies and Indigenous Peoples Development Plans (IPDP) of 10 Indigenous Territories, 
  • Socioenvironmental Baseline Studies and Development Programs for 08 Quilombola (slave descendant) Communities.
