Our experience in transmission line projects includes over 150 projects totaling about 40,000 Km. This experience includes projects in Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Guyana, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Tanzania and Sierra Leone. On these projects JGP has developed the full range of environmental and social services.
Some extremely large and complex projects deserve highlighting. In Brazil, these include the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) of the 2 high-voltage direct current (600 kV) transmission lines between São Paulo and Rondonia states (2,350 Km each) and the high-voltage DC line (800 kV) connecting the Belo Monte Hydropower Plant to the state of São Paulo (Xingu-Estreito 800 kV Transmission Line – 2,280 Km). In Africa, we have developed the ESIAs of the 400 kV Chimuara-Nacala line in Mozambique (816 Km.) and the UTIP 400 kV in Tanzania (556 km.).
Environmental and Social Due Diligence and Independent Monitoring for Lenders has been conducted on energy distribution concessions that cover more than 30% of Brazilian territory.
Also worthy of mention is the Integrated Management Plan to address irregular easement encroachment issues along over 5,500 Km of transmission lines under concession to REP-Peru in the central and southern regions of Peru.
