JGP was retained by EBP and IFC to structure the environmental and social aspects of a concession program including two of Brazil’s main International Airports. Scope of work included:

  • E&S Due Diligence Assessment of current airport facilities and planned expansion projects. 
  • Survey of applicable environmental, social and health and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory of environmental and social liabilities.
  • E&S advice to the engineering teams defining the Airport Expansion Plans to be included in the concession agreements.
  • Identification of environmental and social risks and impacts of alternative expansion plans. 
  • E&S CAPEX and OPEX calculations.
  • Definition of the E&S requirements to be incorporated into the tender documents of each concession.
  • Resettlement guidelines to be adopted in the case of communities to be affected in the Galeão project.
  • Coordination with the Legal Counsel on inclusion of E&S requirements in the concession contracts.
  • Definition of environmental and social performance indicators (KPIs) for each concession.
  • Support to the Granting Authority during the tendering process.
